This Course May Not Be for You If...
This course is not for everybody.
One thing about this course is we’re going to talk about God. I’m not interested in you building a massively successful business while still harboring pride, idolatry, unforgiveness, insecurity, and shame. No no no no — all of that has to go now! We are about doing God’s business, keeping Him at the center, and operating in godly order.
The Nature of God (or what we can understand)
The nature of God is severely complex – more than all 300 billion or so people on this earth could ever understand if we all came together and tried to figure it out.
Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. Isaiah 40:15 KJV
God is a Holy God that created a perfect world that was messed up by imperfect people. Before you ask me why God would make us imperfect, perhaps, we can consider that God loved us so much that He gave us a choice to choose Him rather than making us perfect robots that obeyed His commands. If you were to marry a spouse or had a friend who only did everything that you wanted them to do and never formed opinions of their own, you would eventually tire out of that scenario playing over and over again. That’s not love. That’s narcissism.
According to Psalm 37:23, God delights in the details of our lives.
…He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23 NLT
He cares about your heart, your thoughts, your desires, your dislikes, you children, your mistakes, your wins, your purpose, every hair on your head, your favorite meal, your favorite color when you were 5 years old, your favorite color now. He cares about all-things-you. And He also cares about the business that you’ve been wanting to start for who knows how long.
But could the business exist without you being here? Could the business bring honor and glory to His name if you’re not the one developing it? Maybe not.
God cares about your business (yes He actually does)
When we think about entrepreneurship and business, we often focus more on the output of business rather than the input. So if we dial all the way back to the very beginning of any business venture, it all starts with one thing — you.
Before the business is or will ever be created there was you and your idea. And before there was a you, there was and is God. At the bare bones, it's you and God, sis. It always was and it always will be. God cares about you.
He wants you to win in every way. In life. In Relationships. In Business and beyond. Yet, I humbly believe that He wants your heart to be committed and steadfast to Him before anything else.
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17 NKJV
God was pleased with Jesus and claimed Him as His Son before He ever made one move in ministry. In the same way, we can gather that God is already pleased with you for simply being who are — a creation made in His image whom He predestined, called, justified, and glorified.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
His heart is for you so much that though His wrath will meet earth at one point, He is patiently waiting for us to be made right in His sight to live with Him forever.
I say all this to say that the Single Mom Business School cannot help you if you are an unbeliever of Jesus Christ. The strategies, operations, and tools that will be found in this course will not be helpful for you in any way, shape, or form if you are not a believer of Jesus Christ. We need a Savior because of how imperfect we are. And so if we need Him just to live and breathe everyday you better believe that we need to Him to build massively impactful business that glory and honor His Kingdom.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23 KJV
Take notice that a good man or a man has similar meanings to:
strong man, warrior, a valiant man
Furthermore, when we seek further definition of what it means to be ‘good’ we can go to Mark 10:18 which says
No one is good but One, that is God Mark 10:18 NKJV
And so if a person is not a believer of Christ, it may be likely that their steps are not always ordered by the Lord. If their steps are not ordered by the Lord, who are they ordered by?
