Breaking Covenants, Curses, and Altars

Now that you have come before God with thanksgiving, repentance, and forgiving others, you can now begin to break the covenants, curses, and altars that have been set up against your life. You want to continue to maintain a very fervent and firm prayer life throughout this time, not just for the benefit of being blessed and protected but also because of the relationship that you want with God.

The fulfillment that we all desire as humans, does not come through money, success, fame, marriage, children, food or any other pleasure of the flesh. It comes through Jesus Christ and His love for us and so we might as well have beautiful and continual relationship with Him because that's what we're built for.

• But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.Isaiah 49:25 King James Version 

• But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me, and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies;if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember;I will remember the land. Common Questions

1. Don’t we pay for our own sins and not the sins of our parents? That's good and common question that many people have. Let's look at Scripture below to understand more about this answer.

• “‘What?’ you ask. ‘Doesn’t the child pay for the parent’s sins?’ No! For if the child does what is just and right and keeps my decrees, that child will surely live. The person who sins is the one who will die. Ezekiel 18:19-23 New Living Translation (NLT)

For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[b] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. What happens during deliverance?

During the process of deliverance, you are evicting all evil spirits from the place where they have been hiding. Remember, God has given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means harm you (Luke 10:19). Thus, you can command that all evil spirits that are leaving your body, mind, house, children, pets, must leave peacefully and quietly in the name of Jesus.

In some cases, there have been people who have burped or yawned as the evil spirits are leaving.

What happens after I go through deliverance?

Different things happen for different people. If you have gone through all steps and applied the blood of Jesus, and applied Scripture, the enemy has to flee. According to James 4:7, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

Also according to Phillipans 2:10-11, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

You can have faith that there has been a shift in the spiritual realm regarding you and God is working on your behalf. It is completely okay to go through deliverance more than one time. Though the covenants, curses, and altars have been broken, in some cases, you may have strongholds that were built up over time that will need to be torn down. You can tear these down with the Word of God.

•  For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4 NKJV

• Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Ephesians 6:14 NKJV

• For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

So if you notice that there are strongholds of poverty, anti marriage, depression, fear or anything else that is still operating in your life, this may not mean that your deliverance didn't work, this just means that you may have had a stronghold built in your life.

Whichever area it is, take an arsenal of weapons which is the Word (scriptures) and cry out before God that He would tear down the stronghold that is present in your life. Keep going until you see things change in the natural or until Holy Spirit tells you otherwise.

You will also want to ensure that you are taking steps to not re-open the doors, covenants, curses, and altars that were previously in your life. This comes through a lifestyle of repentance and asking God to pour the Blood of Jesus Christ over your sins daily and asking for His wisdom in all things -- what you watch, where you go, what you wear, who you engage with, everything.

Components of Deliverance

Prayer

We need to be praying daily and not just for 30 seconds, although I believe God can honor a 30 second prayer, we need to be praying for some substantial amount of time as if we believe that God hears and answers our prayers

If you believe that God can change your life which He can, you need to act like it

Think of it this way: If you had a millionaire sitting right in front of you and that millionaire wrote you a love letter telling you how much they love you and care about you, down to how many hairs are on your head you would make it a point to talk to them every single day and tell them exactly what you needed. 

If you knew of a top strategist that could give you the best life and business advice and you’re guaranteed to get out of that situation, you would make it a point to talk to that person every single day and not just for a little bit. 

You can start with 5 minutes then 10 minutes and continue growing or you can do 5 minutes in the morning, lunch, and afternoon

You could go on a walk and talk out loud — we all do it when no one’s looking and we talk out loud

Fasting 

I’ve heard it said that fasting is like a bomb that completely blows up and breaks through whatever you are trying to demolish to get through to God or to your promise. 

• However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:21



• So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29

• Is this not the fast I have chosen; to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall cry, and He will say “Here I am” If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as noonday. The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in. • Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites,with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly Matthew 6:16-18

The Blood of Jesus Christ

The blood of Jesus Christ is sooooooo important to being delivered and set free. In the Old Testament, God's people had to kill animals and use the bloodshed to atone for their sins. However, because Jesus Christ died on the cross for us, He became the Ultimate Sacrifice on our behalf so that when we mess up, not if but when we mess up, we have the perfect blood of Jesus that has taken away our sins. The blood is applied to us if we believe that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected from the dead in victory over death, hell, and the grave. The blood of Jesus is POWERFUL and we must apply His blood to our sins to be completely cleansed.

Prayer Points:

Heavenly Father,

• I ask that You would break every evil covenant, curse, and altar that has been connected to my life or my bloodline. I pray that they be broken now with the blood of Jesus.
  • (You can also name every covenant, curse or altar that you can think of or using the below pdf. My humble recommendation is to ask Holy Spirit for guidance on all covenants, curses, and altars and read the entire list out loud and ask God to break everything from off of your. blood line just to make sure everything is covered)
• I renounce, denounce, and divorce myself from all covenants, curses, and altars that have been active on my bloodline.
  
• Lord, I ask that You would cleanse my bloodline with the Blood of Jesus Christ.
• Lord, I pray that You would cancel every plan or operations of the enemy that would try to come against my family, friends, community, businesses, finances, health as retaliation or vengeance in the name of Jesus. I pray that the blood of Jesus Christ would annihilate every plan that the enemy is trying to plan against my life or those connected to me in retaliation, in Jesus name.
